Anybody Pre-Order that hasn't been charged yet?

I ordered in store and the manager said my card would be charged when the phone shipped out. I assume that will happen wherever you have it delivered. However, my credit card company called me with a fraud check to see if I had really made a cellular purchase on the 15th. So they at least run a check to make sure your card is valid.

I ordered on the 15th but never got a confirmation email from Apple yet! And my card hasn't been charged either. I am not worried yet since I can see my order number in the Order Status in Apple.com Store.

My 32G Black was pre-ordered the morning of the 16th. The CC (American Express)account was TEMPORARILY Charged $318.00. Apparently they reserve the amount in your CC account so the money is there when/if they ever ship. That is my best guess.

I preordered and it has not hit my online CC statement yet, but I did receive a phone call from the fraud department of my CC asking to verify I made the iPhone purchase. I verified and approved the transaction but I am still waiting to see it reflected in my online statement.

I think by law, companies are not suppose to charge people's credit cards until the day they shipped the products. I don't know why other people are saying that they have already been charged. Maybe they use a debit card instead. I do not know the law on that aspect.

I just checked my credit card and they have not charged me but my available credit line has been reduced by $750.00 (I ordered two...one for my wife and one for me). They could put a hold for the money on your credit card to make sure they would be able to charge you when they shipped the products. I would check your available credit line.

I ordered two at about 4:30 Eastern on the 15th. My first went through fine and is pending on my credit card, but between the first and second AT&T put 3 $1 holds on my account, which caused the fraud department to shut my card off. The order went through, but I got a call from my card that said they declined the charged. I looked today and it said my first order was on the 15th and the second was on the 16th. So after several attempts to get through to AT&T Premier, thinking I was gonna get it on launch day, they said that the time stamp was the 15th when I originally placed it, so I'll get it on the 24th. My advice is to call and make sure that the order is actually placed, because this whole thing is a huge mess.

I also had two $1 charges, with the charge for the iPhone sandwiches between the two. I did not get a fraud call, which is interesting because I got one at Xmas time when I ordered my daughter's Touch. I was told at that time that my bank called anytime something was ordered at Apple, but maybe it was compounded by the fact that it was the holidays.

I ordered at 5:00 in the morning Tuesday and have just received my confirmation email Thursday at 4:00. From what I have read, you will be charged $50 when you order the phone and you will pay the rest when the phone is shipped.

Companies only usually take money from the card on or just before the release date.

Pre-ordered on the 15th and have my email confirmation. Saw the pending charge but not an official charge.

I successfully ordered on the 15th through Apple's website and my card has roughly a $230 charge on it that is pending. So it seems it was "charged" but not charged.
