I have a PowerPC Mac G5 using Mac OSX 10.5.8. I downloaded Safari 5.0 and have had nothing but repeatedly crashing. o have sent in repoorts with no replies from Apple. Also websites come real slow with Safari 5.0. Anyone else having this problem and does Apple know of this problem? Hope Apple has a fix soon for this problem.

OK, so I took QTK's advice and now Safari works again !!
Although it took it 64 seconds to start working. So at
first I did not think we fixed anything at all. But then
it finally launched.

But now let's look at the new problems it has created.
First of all, I no longer have a working Ad Blocker. Next, this new version
of Safari is very slow and lethargic, and
the old version 4 point whatever, was rocket fast.

Ren --
We're other Mac users here, asking questions and sharing solutions.
So leave the attitude at the door, OK?
We're not Apple, just users who like to help other users.

You've got a bunch of other crapola on there.
It's all in your crash report.
They are most certainly slowing Safari down.

So if you want help, lose the attitude and post your own new topic
along with this crash report. If you want to rant, don't bother.

You're right Bee, I am sorry for the Attitude. I thought
this was Apple, not just friendly users trying to help
and for that, i would like to extend my sincerest apologies
to everyone, as you do not deserve any of my wise *** remarks.
Forgive me please, as my frustration are strictly over Apple's
latest update and my confusion over the site being called
Apple Support and the domain address of discussions.apple.com
lead me to believe these would be Apple people answering my
questions. And they do deserve all of my anger and remarks.

David--
I'm sorry, but your report is confusing to me.
This is from the thread that crashed:
1 SyndicationUI 0x00730090 Compatibility::Utils::printStack(unsigned int, unsigned int) + 268

and this is from the Binary images:
0x6d7000 - 0x6e2ffb libxar.1.dylib ??? (???) /usr/lib/libxar.1.dylib???

(I"m hoping someone who knows more will see these and make more suggestions.)

Question:
Are you running networked from a 10.5.8 Server, by any chance?

I don't think those are worrisome in themselves, ~Bee
If the crashes are frequent enough to know... I do wonder if disabling plugins via Safari-Preferences-Security, or by moving them all out of /Library/Internet Plug Ins/ might tell us something.
