Wireless camera with time capsule

So I was looking at getting a wireless camera for my house. It's the Linksys WVC80N, which is a wireless camera that does not require a computer to view footage. You can access the camera from any computer in the world as long as you have the IP address.

I was wondering if anyone new if the time capsule was able to receive the video footage from the camera wirelessly and store it in the terabyte it has. I also have another external terabyte hard drive attached to it, which would be the better place for the footage.

Essentially the time capsule would have to be able to do FTP and I don't know if it does???? Or my mobileme account with online storage????

Sorry, but the Time Capsule does not have a built-in FTP server service. However, it does provide NAS services, using AFP & SMB, for Mac and PC/Linux clients respectively for file storage.

Thanks for the info! Looks like I'll have to leave my MacBook pro at home on those days. You had a lot of abreviations I didn't understand but I took as my time capsule will store the video footage when my computer is in the house!!

Sorry for any confusion I may have caused you. According to the User Guide for this camera, it is capable of sending AVI files to a Samba server. The TC does offer this feature. Think of Samba and SMB as roughly the same thing. Pages 20 & 21, in the Guide, goes over the details on how to configure the camera to send files to this type of server.

"The TC does offer this feature. Think of Samba and SMB as roughly the same thing" So at the risk of sounding really stupid here, Where do I look within the TC to see if Samba/SMB is turned on? I looked around at the settings and didn't see anything.

Is this an automatic setting?

Both file sharing protocols SMB (Samba) & AFP are available when File Sharing is enabled on the File Sharing tab within the AirPort Utility.

Tesserax-

Sorry it took so long for an update but this project got put on hold, as I had the whole summer to figure this one out. I got the camera to work and recognize the time capsule as a Samba device. I even got it to store the video footage on an attached 1TB drive I have attached to the time capsule, so I don't waste the space on it.

Unfortunately I cannot figure out a way to get the camera to work unless my laptop is on and opened. I was hoping to be able to take my computer to work during these operations.

Perhaps I'll get a cheap laptop to act as the server so I can take my computer to work. I really thought this would work without the computer in the hose. Perhaps I misunderstood the specs of the camera and the time capsule.
