6/24 walk-in... if I didn't preorder

Ok, so I held off the first day hoping the whites would be out for pre-order within a couple days but, evidently, that isn't the case. So, while I would now like to pre-order the black one, I'd have to wait until 7/14 to receive it should I have it shipped to my house. The other option is picking it up in-store. However, there doesn't seem to be an actual option to pre-order a phone for in-store pickup, at least not anymore. Instead it just redirects to the store locator and reads: "Thank you for setting up your account online. Visit your favorite Apple Retail Store starting at 7 a.m. on June 24 to buy your iPhone. iPhone 4 is available on a first-come first-served basis. Limit 2 per person."

Am I just confused and is there actually a way to preorder the iPhone for in-store pickup? If so, how? If not, what do you think the chances of me getting one are if I just show up the morning of, and how early should I get there?
