How do I get photos off iPhone 3gs to Win 7 PC?

This should not be this hard! I've searched and searched and found Picasa solutions for older iPhones and operating systems but I sure cant make anything work with my 3GS iPhone and Windows 7 PC.

My iPhone does not show up in Windows Explorer or any other photo software I load up. I do not use the password protection for iPhone.

There's gotta be a way rite beside emailing them???

I have a Windows 7 laptop and whenever I plug my iPhone 3gs into it a box pops up asking me if I want to import my photos. Not sure why it doesn't for you.

Whats odd is that I DO get that option when I plug in my iPod Touch but I have never gotten that with iPhone!? Some setting somewhere that I need to turn on to off to make it do that?

I switched to a mac before windows 7 came out, but when I had a PC, I would go to My Computer, and under all the drives listed, there would be external hard drive or something listed there that would let me open the phone as a camera that's connected. I would usually ignore the box that popped up, but if I ever wanted to go back and get the photos, that's how I would do it.

I've read that elsewhere on the web too but mostly with XP installs. Mine has never shown up anywhere but my iPod Touch does. How does that work?

ANSWERS FOR WINDOWS USERS:

1) iPHONE NOT BEING SEEN BY WINDOWS 7
2) MULTI CAMERA ROLL PHOTO DELETION
3) GETTING PHOTOS COPIED OFF YOUR iPHONES CAMERA ROLL

Just solved this mess so I know it works.

You want to get photos off your iPhone's Camera Roll - but the Windows PC doesn't see your iPhone for some reason - so you can't do an import using camera wizard, etc......

Solution to multiple issues below:

#1 - First, use TouchCopy or a similar 3rd party app to copy all the photo's off your phone and onto your PC. Keep in mind you can't use iTunes to do this since iTunes photo capabilities SUCK.

#2 - Want to know the reason iPhone isn't being 'seen' by Windows 7? Photo's within Camera Roll that were not actually taken by the iPhone (ie: saved from an email, etc. into Camera Roll) are corrupting the firm-ware. After last software update this firm-ware issue causes iPhone not to be 'seen' by Windows. Solution? Delete all but one photo from Camera Roll (save them to PC first as per step one above).

BUT....

#3 - if iPhone can't be seen by Windows how do you do mass deletion of Camera Roll photos? EASY (soooo few people know about this - but the ability to do mass deletion off Camera Roll is built into the iPhone OS) - no lie.

Go to Photos > Camera Roll - so that you are viewing the entire Camera Roll folders contents, NOT an individual photo. Notice the little arrow coming out of the box in the lower left hand corner? Tap it. You will see three boxes show up - Share, Copy and Delete. Now tap a photo in the Camera Roll folder above. Notice a little check box on the photo? Tap another photo. Another little check box on that photo! Repeat for as many photos as you want to delete (or Share or Copy - in this case ALL Camera Roll photos - except one - leave one in the folder - there has been an issue reported that if you delete them all another issue surfaces, so to be safe, leave one - one that you KNOW was taken by your phone). OK - hit Delete. Presto. A clean Camera Roll.

NOW - reboot iPhone (turn off then on), Plug iPhone into PC running Windows. Windows will now SEE the iPhone again.

If you want to re-import photos back to your iPhone, put them in a dedicated folder on your PC, and SYNC using iTunes (the only thing it is good for).

You're done.
