canon ir C3170i (snow leopard driver?)

Anybody nows a workaround to use a canon ir C3170i with Snow Leopard. Canon doesn't seem to care about drivers for Snow Leopard with this machine.

I need to be able to use it as a printer in a network (via IP).

Thanks,

Macbook (Aluminum) 2.4ghz 4gb Ram, Mac OS X (10.6.3)

Yes, I now a workaround - use the drivers Canon has had available for several weeks...

There are a few options available to you depending on what printer language is installed in your iR C3170.

If you have the optional Postscript kit installed, then there are two options - the [Canon PS driver v3.10|http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0100248302.html] and the [Canon PPDs v2.90|http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0100267504.html]. The iR C3170 is listed as a supported model with both of these drivers.

If you don't have the Postscript kit installed then you will need to use the [UFR II v2.10 driver|http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0100212606.html]. With this driver installed, the Readme for the driver states that you need to select "Canon iR C Series UFR II(UK)" in the Print Using menu.

Note that the driver links I have provided are for machines outside of the USA, ie UK English. If you are in the states then check the Canon USA web site for the same driver versions.
