Arial font in word and pages

OK I'm sure this must have been asked and answered several times before and so I apologise for not being able to find it here.

Can anyone help me solve the problem that when I cut text from a word document writen in Arial, and paste it into a pages document also in Arial (allegedly...), the word-derived text prints blacker - not in bold, but definitely blacker.

When you put text from pages into the word doc, it shows not as arial, but as arialMT, yet, converting the word doc to arialMT and then pasting it back to pages, doesn't solve the problem.

Any ideas, please?
