Air Display - Avatron

Thanks for replying, Craig. There's something up here - I can't get to that page via your link either - have emptied Cache and Reset Safari (v.5) - which I've done several times already today - and still no joy.

I get: Safari can’t open the page “ http://avatron.com/spt/download/” because Safari can’t find the server “avatron.com”.

Thanks for replying. I've done refresh after refresh but still can't get to avatron.com. Have tried in another user account - still no joy.
It'll say 'contacting avatron' in the status bar, and the address bar gets highlit as far as the first slash, or sometimes to the 'a' of avatron, but then 'done' and 'Safari can't find...
It's very frustrating when other people have no problem with it!
More suggestions gratefully received...

Thanks for the offer (my OS is at the bottom of my posts), but I think I'll wait for Air Display and get my iMac sorted first - am currently downloading the latest combo update in case moving to 10.6.4 via SU has 'broken' something. A few things actually - widgets aren't behaving as they should at the moment, and I have an ongoing problem with System Prefs not opening, which wasn't fixed with SU of 10.6.4.

Update: Have just tried to get to avatron.com on my partner's iMac - no joy there either, so could it be my router? Tried rebooting that but still nothing.

I have now downloaded and installed the combo update for 10.6.4, even though I was already using it, because I'd read somewhere that the combo update can resolve problems. I've re-emptied Safari's cache and reset Safari & trashed all the .plist files in ~/Library/Safari.

But still I can't get to any avatron.com websites - other websites: no problem.

Please is there anything else I can try?

I really couldn't say, Barbara, except that the Open DNS numbers were an instant solution (as per link above to the Safari forum).
