I just pre-ordered my iPhone 4 for July 14th. Is it true that after it is shipped, there is an option to print out a "pre-sign" form incase no one home is there to sign it?
Yes you can do that. I would only do so if I were having it left with a trustworthy neighbor. No way would I leave my Iphone on the porch til I got home.
You'd be better off just letting FedEx or UPS take it to their local hub and picking it up after work.
You'll be notified with shipping details when it ships, so maybe you can call in sick that day and just stay home and wait. I plan on suddenly having to "work from home" when I find out my delivery date. 🙂
Yes, but if you sign that paper and fedex leaves the iphone outside your house and your not home and someone gets it fedex and apple are not liable for anything. so better off getting it ast the fedex location or have somebody be home.
Can the delivery people be trusted? Like can't I attach a note to the "pre-sign" form telling to do put the iphone in a specific place? maybe like in the back, I'll leave the window slightly open and tell the person to put it through there or leave the back door open and tell the delivery person to lock the door after putting the iphone inside the house? Can we trust them?
Not sure about orders from AT&T, but if you ordered from Apple, and I talked to an apple guy tonight and asked him about the pre-sign form, apparently there is none for the iphone, BUT he said you might be able to leave a note on the door.
with that paper signed you cant trust anyone basically saying. and they usually just put it on the front door you can try and see what happens but nothing is guaranteed on where he will put it
I plan on just letting them attempt delivery and hope one of us is home to get it. If my fiancee doesn't take a vacation day that day and we aren't home then I will just pick it up from the fedex hub after work. Not a big deal for me as I won't be able to play with it until after work anyway.
Just make sure you call fedex once the attempt is made so they can place it aside for you so when you get to fedex it will be all ready for pickup.
whoever wants to print the presign form you print that on your order status page once your iphone ships it will prompt you a link to print the paper if you want and sign it
I remember hearing that at Christmas time, some people were following UPS and FED EX trucks around and stealing packages that they left at homes. I sure wouldn't want the iphone left outside.
which is why i wont sign a presign form better picking it up at the warehouse location and since people know june 24 is iphone day that might actually happen
