"Audio Unit Plug-In" problem - Logic won't start...

I was running Logic 9.1.1. on OSX 10.5.8. Everything was running extremely well until I updated my OS to SNOW LEOPARD (10.6). Now for some reason, every time I try to boot up Logic, it displays this notice: "Logic Pro will now test 20 installed Audio Unit Plug-Ins to maximize system stability. This Au validation can take some time..."

I hit "ok" and Logic unexpectedly quits. I've tried deleting my cache, but that hasn't helped at all. Does anyone know why this is happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6), Logic 9.1.1.

Hi defmuse.

Is SL running 64 bit? Your plugins might not be compatible with a 64 OS.
Another possibility, the plugins aren't compatible with SL. Some need a patch or u/grade from the manufacturers web site to work under the newer version of the OS.

Another thing to try. Validate each plugin separately. One might be the problem, rather than all of them.

Hope this helps.

Scorpii.

I'm running 32 bit, not 64. Will I have to RE-Install all my 3rd party plug-ins, since I can't open Logic at all to begin with...? The odd thing is that a friend of mine is using the same 3rd party plug-ins, and he didn't have to download any upgrade from the 3rd party sites. Could it have anything to do with the fact that he installed his OSX Snow Leopard BEFORE he installed Logic 9 and the 3rd party plug-ins, and me having installed OSX Snow Leopard AFTER installing Logic, etc,...?

Thanks for your reply Scorpii. Appreciate it.

Yes.

Os Snow Leopard has a lot of changes, and there are many plug ins which may or may not be compatible.

Not all your plug ins will be incompatible. Try to find the ones which are not functioning, and go from there.

Cheers
