How to Record a Call in a iPhone

I was using Nokia handsets and the phone has the basic builtin feature to record the incoming calls at realtime for free. This is very convenient and fast if you want to take a note of an address or an event for example.

Does iphone has this basic feature? If yes, how to record the call

win7, iPhone OS 3.1.3

Not likely. Too subject to abuse (think: lawsuits). I'd need to see documentation about your other phone having it as a built-in feature before I'd believe it available.

GatorsFan is right. You can't just record anyone who's calling you without letting them know according to the law. Unfortunately, because I was using this feature many times on many occasions just to cover my back. But that was nokia, and I don't think it was a basic feature, but I may be wrong as I've never used it. I used Ultimate Voice Recorder for nokia, and it recorded everything, but the same app for iPhone will not record phonecalls I'm afraid 😟

If you are in the USA be aware, each state has its own laws for recording phone calls. In some states the law requires at least one party PARTICIPATING in the call is aware the call is being recorded. If you make the call or receive the call and then record, you are that one party who is PARTICIPATING.

Other states, however, require at least two or all parties required to know the call is being recorded. Failure to do so can result in you being sued and cited for breaking the state law.

The purpose behind these laws is to protect us from big brother being able to record phone calls without a court order. They would be the none participating party.

its quite amazing that every phone ive owned for the last 8 years, you could record every phone conversation (in and out). I have had nokias, ericssons, lgs and samsungs in those 8 years. Now i bought a brand new iphon4 and it CANT RECORD? thats a bunch of bogus i think. Its up to me whether i want to record the call for memory or such. Its only against the law in some jurisdictions to be used against the caller / callee in court.!!

come on apple 🙂
