Is there a way I can arrange to have my iphone and ipad sync with my single itunes separately? The thing is, there is music, movies, that I would like to have on both devices, but I want to keep iphone apps and ipad apps separate. In addition, I don't want to sync my music with ipad. Is there any way to isolate the two formats?

Each device is separate. I have some stuff on my iPod touch, some on my iPad, some on both, and that's not even counting my iPod Nano.

    Hi-

Yes, just set the iPad to "Manually Sync" whatever it is you wish to control, be it apps, music, video, etc.
Then, in each appropriate tab, allow that which you wish to be included.

You don't need to select Manually Manage. I have four iPods, and an iPad synced to the same iTunes account. I don't manually manage any of them and they each have a differnent selection of things on them.

It depends on the size of your libraries, doesn't it?
My music library alone is 5 times larger than my largest iPod.
My video will quickly fill the iPad with room for nothing else.

Point is, one can select what goes on to each device.

My library isnwell over a terabyte. Still don't manually manage my music. ITunes offers lots of ways to selectively sync. Which one choses is a matter of personal preference that doesn't have to be dictatednnyneither number of devsices or size of library.

    Best of luck.

I would like to be able to do this also but, i'm not sure how to set my iPad to manually sync for one thing and also, when I connect my iPad to my new (recently purchased, first time, new to this) iMac it only gives me the option to either set up as 'new' or 'restore to my recent iPhone back up'. I just want them to be separate. How can I fix this please?
