Using Canon Bluetooth Adapter BU30 with IP100 Printer

Dear All,

1)how does the operational speed of this adapter compare with a USB connection?

2)the IP100 manual says only to use this adapter: I want to use a much cheaper bluetooth adapter distributed in Australia by Electus Distribution Pty. It is called Bluetooth Tiny USB Adapter V2.0+EDR, Jaycar catalogue (?) XC-4892.

Is it mechanically and electrically fully compatible? As usual made in China.

Cheers all,

Keno

USB is definitely faster than Bluetooth.

As for the adapter, manufacturers always quote to use their own equipment. However the only way you will know if the third party works is to get one, or rely on someone else having used one. The other thing to note is that if you were to have any trouble printing to the device with the 3rd party adapter, Canon will always blame this adapter as the cause - even if it is not the cause.
