Unaware of any demo mode (been in these forums since first day of original iPhone). Sounds like they gave you a demo phone that had different software on it. Cannot see why anything would take 6-7 hours to sort out. They should just give you another phone and take that one back, problem solved.

thats what we asked them today (for a new phone), they said no. they said the demo mode needs deleting off our Itunes, or another itunes account needs setting up, but i would loose all my apps etc.

What exactly do you mean by demo mode? And if this is linked to an iTunes account, who set up the iTunes account on your phone - you, or someone in the store?

I think i know what your're talking about. You guys ever seen in the Apple store, some of the iPhones have a white background with all these different App icons shooting across the screen, then it goes to like photos or something. Sounds like you got a Display model pretty much.

Try hooking it up to iTunes, and restoring the firmware. That always wipes everything off the phone, and reloads the newest firmware back onto the phone. Give that a shot/
