Itunes could not copy (song) to the Ipad because the file format is inv

Huh... that's supposed to be "invalid" there at the end...

Anyway, I've ripped my entire CD collection in to Apple lossless format files. These take up a lot of room, naturally, so now that Itunes can convert them into smaller files when I copy them onto my devices without affecting the originals on my HDD, I wanted to use that option so I can carry around more of my music.

Problem is, some of my music won't copy, and that's the error message I get. Itunes can play the music just fine, but it won't copy it on to my devices.

Any ideas? I've searched these forums, but I can't seem to find anything helpful...

Nope, you're not the only one. I have somehow six songs in my iTunes library that give me the message "iTunes could not copy the file to iphone because the file format is invalid." I've checked the files themselves, and they seem normal. No clue. No luck either searching out this issue on the web.

Can anyone else help?

No answer, but I've got the same problem with iTunes movie purchases as well. 8 will transfer via Home Sharing, but 30 won't. Wasn't looking to transfer songs, but did a couple of tests. A song that I ripped from a CD transferred fine. My most recent iTunes music purchase transferred fine, but the first one I ever bought, back in 2006 did not.

I can't find any other answers either.
