installing windows software on the windows side of my mac through parallels

I have parallels 5.0, of which I will use to run windows programs, how will I install some of my windows software? if I plug in my thumb drive with the windows software downloads on it, will it show up on the windows side for me to install? will the usb thumb drive be showing up in both mac os & windows?

Everything will work in Windows as you would expect. Flash drives can be used on both OS X and Windows provided it is partitioned using MBR and formatted MSDOS (FAT.) Of course you must install Windows in a Parallels VM.
