Saving photos edited in PS Elements back into iPhoto

Saving photos edited in PS Elements back into iPhoto

I'm new to PS Elements and love it but am having trouble saving photos. I have set my preferences in iPhoto to open in PS elements for editing. So far that's great. My question is when I'm finished editing in PS Elements how do I save the edited photo back into iPhoto?? I'm sure there's an easy solution but beyond saving into PhotoLibrary in Finder then trying to find in within the many many folders and dragging into iPhoto - I'm at a loss. Any suggestions?

Hi Jodeth,
make sure the image is flattened and do a "save" using the same name.
The edit will then be reflected within iPhoto.

Do not "save as" into the iPhoto Library folder.

Hey Lori - thanks so much - it worked great. I was sure I tried that but obviously not. Sometimes it's just the little things that get ya!

That's great. Yup, it's those little things!
You can always do a "save as" and save to the desktop. This will not change the image within iPhoto which is sometimes a way to go if you don't want the image changed within iPhoto but want to use the edited image for something else.

If you want to keep the layered Photoshop Elements file for future editing you'll have to save it to the desktop and then import as a new file. Once it is in iPhoto as a psd file future edits can be just be saved as usual and iPhoto will recognize the edits.
