Since upgrading to 9.2, iTunes will not go to the home screen; it remains "stuck" on the genius recommendations page. You can choose between the various genres but you cannot get back to the main page.
Now the problem is back. I spoke too soon. It may have something to do with clearing the safari browser cache. That's the only hinge I did on the iPad between posts.
Been having the same problem. Read one of the above messages, it started for me too after clearing Safari history. Just figured it out (a workaround, anyway):
Open a program that will link you into the iTunes store, I used Shazam. Tag a song, then click the tab to 'purchase in itunes'. iTunes will open, you'll get your music selection window on top of iTunes (background may go grey for a moment). Close out the album or song selection, and all should be back to normal.
I think there is a quicker way than needing to use a second app like Shazam. If you are stuck in genius mode in (e.g films), go to an alternative tab (e.g. music) and select a tab that is not genius then quit the iTunes app. When you re-open the app and go back to the original tab that was stuck in 'genius mode' you should find that it has defaulted back to 'featured' and the three buttons at the top have returned and you can browse again. So looks like the key thing here is never to quit the iTunes app in genius mode for any of the sections until Apple fix the bug.
