Disabling EXIF rotation in finder & preview

Hello,

When i look at a image in Preview or finder it always automatically rotates the image according to the EXIF-information. But when i upload it to a forum, site, etc... it displays sideways because those tool's don't read the EXIF.

I have tried disabling the auto-rotate function on my camera but with no succes, so what i wan't to do now is be able to look at the photo's the way they are (sideways) so i know wich ones i need to rotate in the correct way.

So what i need to do, i think, is disabling a function that reads the EXIF-rotation in preview. Any help ?

I would LOVE to know how to do this too! It's driving me nuts that I can't tell if an image is rotated when I view it in Preview, or look at the thumbnail in Finder... then I upload it, and bam! it's freak'n sideways!!! please let me know if you find anything, I'll do the same.

I did find a way to have Preview show the actual rotation and not auto-rotate the image when in print preview, but that is still annoying... but here is that work around if you need it:

open up Terminal and copy/paste this in:
defaults write com.apple.Preview PVImagePrintingAutoRotate 0

it allows you to see the actual rotation if you click on print, then preview....

Omg thx a lot m8!

That already helped me out a lot, now at least i can see the correct rotation.

But for the rest i have been searching all around and didn't find any solution, to be honest this forum was my last resort 😟

But if i would ever find a solution i will definately post it here to !

Grts!, and fingers crossed for a solution 😝
