Purple Arrow?

Question

Purple Arrow?

Next to the percentage left for the charge on my iPhone, there is a lil' purple arrow pointing up.

Does anyone know what this means or what it's for?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.4), 32GB iPhone 3GS

I was going to ask that, but I tried it out and it's true. I went into maps and two other apps that use location services and it's there with them, but it's not there with the apps that don't need to know my location.

Common sense mixed with the fact that is the new "Locate Me" icon in the Maps app.

Hi Carole,

Look in Settings, General, Location Services.

Note with the new iOS 4 on the iPhone 4 (and others?) you can disable Location Services for individual Apps so you can keep your "important" ones.

ya thats wierd, i havent had a problem with it till I got BikeMateLite which is a great free app, but it uses your location all the time. so as ivan54 said - i turned it off for that app only and now the arrow is gone and I have a longer battory life 🙂
