iOS 4 breaks A2DP on 3GS

Updated my 3GS to iOS4 and now a2dp is broken on audio streaming to my car stereo...tried reseting the Bluetooth connection but still no success...hands free calling works fine, just no audio streaming....anyone else have similar issues?

Have the same problem. I have a pioneer car stereo. With software 3.1.2, when i plugged in the front panel of the car stereo, it paired handsfree (telephone symbol) and a2dp (headphone symbol) automatically. Now with iOS 4, it pairs handsfree but not a2dp (you see it flashing indicating that it is trying to pair, but at the end it fails). It only pairs if i set it on discovery mode (pair from phone) and click the device name on the bluetooth preferences on the iphone (but the play/pause doesn't work).

Seems like adding the keyboard profile broke something on the a2dp profile.

my 1st post! I'm having the same issue with my Pioneer FH-P8000BT and my 3GS on iOS4. When it turns on, it pairs fine on hands-free, but when I switch to BT-Audio, the A2DP icon on the head unit blinks like it is connecting, but fails to connect, with no error message. Phone calls work fine over hands-free.

Just to rule things out, I was able to connect an ipod touch running 3.1.2 to the A2DP profile on the head unit just fine (provided that my iPhone was not connected at all). The iPhone and iPod won't connect to the stereo over bluetooth at the same time, even with one going for the handsfree profile, and the other for the A2DP profile.

To further rule things out, my iphone syncs to a Motorola MOTOROKR EQ7 bluetooth speaker and plays music and makes phone calls just fine.

My Pioneer head unit says that it can update the bluetooth firmware, but I don't see any new firmware available for it on their website.

This ***** because I use the A2DP on the iPhone and car stereo everyday.

Hmm, not a good sign that we're all running Pioneer decks. Mine is also a DEH-P7000T. I'm guessing that Pioneer played fast and loose with the a2dp spec, then Apple tightened up their code when they did the integration of the BT keyboard driver, and now whatever shortcut the Pioneer deck was taking doesn't exist.

I did some more experimenting, and the 7000BT will connect to the iPhone, it just won't autoconnect.

I'm having similar problems here. Trying to connect to my Dell BH200. Before I could play music and make phone calls, and use the Play/ Pause button. Now I am only able to stream music, phone calls come out of the iPhone and refuse to go over Bluetooth, and the Play/ Pause button does nothing.

Very annoyed as I'm a heavy user of A2DP.

Same problem here. I have a Pioneer FH-P8000BT. Bluetooth phone connects, but not audio.

I tried forgetting the profile on the iPhone and resetting the connection. Both audio and phone now will connect, but it lasts only as long as I keep the power on. The settings don't stick—when I turn the power off and then back on, the audio won't connect.

What this means is that I'm going to have to reset the bluetooth audio connection every time I want to use it. Not really a feasible proposition.

Motorola S9HD. Kills audio on multitasking section. iPod failed and new games too. Not sure if rebooting the headset worked but I hear sounds again. Also did the full shutdown and reboot. That worked too.

Nope. Problem is my headset. The S9HD loses connection all together and does speaker sound. Gotta replace mine.
