Do any Google Apps users have any issues getting their email on their iPhone after upgrading to iOS4? I had to delete and re-add my account (Exchange/Google Sync/Google Apps) on the iPhone which failed with all of the correct information multiple times, then all of a sudden just worked. The phone has been very slow to update now, and I'm wondering if anyone else has seen similar behavior on their iPhones since the update?
I am having troubles as well. My Email and Calendar are working as expected on my primary exchange (google apps) account, but my address book is 100% empty. I tried turning off contacts then turning it back on again, but that has not worked.
It was sweet to have a second Exchange entry (two google app accounts). The address book from the second account worked, but still nothing from my first account.
Next I will try removing and adding my first and primary account.
I can send and receive mail but when I delete or archive (folder) to All Mail, I'm getting a "cannot connect to server error". Removed and recreated account but still happening.
Yea, me too! Mail, Contacts and Calendar are not syncing! Thank goodness I have the World Cup to watch to keep me distracted from trying to fix this issue, which will probably have a fix soon, I hope! Oh, and also, where the heck are the White iPhone 4's?
I have a iPhone 3G and the same thing is happening with me. My Gmail though works fine and is synced up, but calendars and contacts are not syncing properly. I checked my phone and like 10 of my contacts are in and seem to be coming in slowly. This is most likely a bug/glitch that google didn't prepare for when we ALL would be upgrading to iOS4 at once and trying to get our google apps/contacts and calendars synced. Hopefully enough people complain on here and on the google forums about this and tomorrow they will have a solution. (quickpwn newsletter is worth subscribing to) Keep posting if the problem persists or you have 100% success with syncing the contacts and calendars with the iPhone.
After upgrading my iPhone 3GS to iOS4, aspects of IMAP are not working for Google Apps hosted email. Specifically, deleting email from iPhone does not delete from server, so I have to delete again in Apple Mail.
Aspects of IMAP that are working is when email is on iPhone and then I open Apple Mail, which downloads messages from Google App mail account. In that case, the iPhone clears out those messages.
Anyone else experiencing this issue or have any ideas? Nothing has changed except for the upgrade to iOS4.
Look closely at your username in the Exchange settings.. when I restored my new iPhone 4 from my previous backup, it added an extra "@gmail.com" to the name. Delete that and you should be good.
I figured out what was going on. iOS4 supports Google's Gmail archive feature. The upgrade automatically toggled archive to "on". When I went to swipe-delete emails in my inbox, I didn't notice the red "delete" button changed to "archive".
Very Frustrating!!
My wife is a photographer and I set up her Calendar on her iphone to sync with Google Calendars. It worked great, but after her phone was upgraded to OS4, not only did her events disappear from her phone, they also disappeared from her Google Calendar online. I checked to see if her phone was overwritten by a blank iCal, but that was not the case, and even if it was, iCal should not have the power to Overwrite a Google Calendar account, so that mustn't be the issue. This has been extremely inconvenient and bad for business. It is difficult to appreciate the ability to use this kind of technology when it is so unreliable. Any others with such an issue?
