I have an iphone 3g and just recently upgraded to iOs 4.2.1 and now my JVC KD-HDR60 "cannot play" from my iphone. It worked before with iOs 4.1 but now it does not work. Any pointers or help?

33 pages of posts on this problem, and as far as I can see, zero response from Apple. No suggestions, no explanations, not even an acknowledgement that they've noticed the problem exists.

My iPhone 3GS is the first Apple product I've ever owned, so I'm not familiar with their support. Is this sort of comtempt for their customers normal with Apple? If so, the company's almost religious popularity among Apple users is very mysterious to me ...

Just an update on my previous post:

I tried every boot up/reset, connection order known to man but had absolutely no success while running iOS 4.1 on my iPhone 4.

Upgraded to iOS 4.2.1 (not a smooth transition! What is that error 1013 all about... but that's another story!) After upgrading the iOS I did a reset on the phone (Power & Home button together for approximately 10 secs)

The iPhone 4 now connects to the X305S every time, works as advertised and with no pauses in songs.

Next mission... to get PandoraLink for Alpine to connect correctly!

I have a Griffin Tuneflex Aux which WAS working perfectly until I installed the IOS upgrade. Now,of course, no audio output. Apple support pretty much told me "yup, that won't work" and suggested I leave a feedback message. I was "this close" to buying a mac book, but now I will stick with Dell. The nanosecond I can get out of this ATT contract I'm going Android.

The device I use is the Griffin TuneFlex Aux.

It has no software...it's just hardware. I have two of these, they cost $50 each, and they both worked perfectly under IOS 3.

Now after I get the new and improved error message about the accessory being incompatible, there is no sound.

The cradle still charges the device, and my iJet remote still adjusts the volume and controls ipod tracks, which would be infinitely more useful if the audio signal could reach my car stereo.

I read somwhere that under 4.2 u might need to poke a setting so that the audio will pass. On earlier os moddels the setting wasn't available. Check out for an airplay icon on the iPhone.

YES.... ON THE ALBUM COVER OR NOW PLAYING SCREEN WHICH EVER YOU CALL IT THERE IS NOW A BLUE BOX THAT LOOKS LIKE AN ENVELOPE DOWN ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT OF THE SCREEN BESIDE THE PAUSE/PLAY AND NEXT ARROWS.. WHEN YOU CLICK IT A CHOICE COMES UP AND ON MINE IF I PUSH "DOCK CONNECTION" IT PLAYS THE WAY IT SHOULD.. IT SAID ON THE SOFTWARE UPGRADE PAGE ON ITUNES THAT THIS VERSION HAD A FIX AND YEP THERE IT WAS.. WORKS FINE. ON MINE MY TWO CHOICES ARE JVC UNIT ON THE ONE BUTTON AND DOCK CONNECTION ON THE OTHER. IT NEEDS TO BE ON DOCK CONNECTION. IF YOU CAN'T FIND IT POST AGAIN AND I WILL TRY TO EXPLAIN BETTER.

That option has been around in V4 since I can remember! Problem is that each time A2DP connects by Bluetooth, cable audio is stopped. You then have 2 use the dock option on the iPod screen to switch audio back 2 cable.

If by option you mean the little blue envelope that just showed up on my iphone this last update. I don't know what you mean by "V4" or "A2DP" so I can't help there... I had a problem when I first got the stereo of after a bluetooth call it wouldn't go back to playing the music and I had to unplug the usb and plug it back in to get my music to play again. This now works correctly too.. At the end of a call it goes right back to playing and I am happy it all seems to work well.. Only thing is I don't understand why it just won't allow us to pick in settings about the dock connector or jvc unit and it would stay that way instead of switching back sometimes after being unconnected.. But I'm not complaining cause I am happy they fixed it this far..

Try check the politely caps locked message above
  • kimbra8 Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)
I put it in all caps in hopes to have it stand out since I had posted previously about this fix and still see people having problems and being upset about apple not fixing it when in fact they are trying... So if anyone is still having problems look above for the post in all caps posted on Dec 8th.. Thank you Juan for noticing and trying to help others also..

Hey Kimbra does that blue box you speak of only work on iphone 4? Because I do not see it on my iphone 3g?

Good question rbp... My husband still has his 3GS and as soon as we get back from errands I will update his software and check it out. I promise to post back this evening with the outcome. Making sure meanwhile you are on the right screen awhile... When a song is playing and the album cover screen is there and there are forward, reverse and play or pause at the bottom. It is the screen after you have picked your song and then it goes to "now playing". That is the screen where I found it. Down beside the controls on the right. I'll post later and I hope to be able to help. And also checking... You have upgraded to the 4.2.1 software?
