adding PDF to page in iWeb

PDF is fine. To add a PDF natively in iWeb...

• Select the text or object you want to turn into a hyperlink.

• If the Link Inspector isn’t open, click Inspector in the toolbar (or choose View > Show Inspector), and then click the Link Inspector button.

• In the Link Inspector, select “Enable as a hyperlink,” and then choose this option from the Link To pop-up menu:

• A File: Downloads a file to the visitor’s computer. (The file is part of your website; visitors won’t have access to your computer.)

Note: the hyperlink will only be testable from a browser once you've published your site.

An alternative approach is to use Scribd:

And the free Posterous blogging platform can also be used to automatically post your PDF to Scribd and embed it into your blog — here's an example:

If they are one page pdfs then just drag them onto an iWeb page and resize as necessary to make them readable.

If you have multiple pages you can upload them to the server and then link to them using iFrame code in an HTML snippet like on this demo page: Scrolling Texgt Box - PDF.

A more elegant solution would be to use www.issuu.com to create a flash presentation of your pdf(s). This is one example: http://www.issuu.com/roadonlinemagazine/docs/road_3. It's free.

Or you could use the method I used to post an iPhoto book online: iPhoto Book as an iWeb Slideshow. Instead of linking to the thumbnail page you could link directly to the grid grid page.

The Issuu method is the more elegant. I've not used it so can't comment on it.

Just used the issuu service and it works great! I was able to easily link pdf's of my work (writing) to my webpage. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge.

I use the Hybrid Publication system ( www.hpublication.com).
PDF is converted for display on the web, with page flip.
Lets have your own domain, or download the magazine and put it on my site or a CD or USB.
And it gives me complete statistics.
