I had my order canceled on Monday night. Spent most of the 15th trying to get my pre-order in through Apple or AT&T (whichever was first). Finally got my order in through to Apple at 4:19pm, and apparently a few through AT&T. Tried to get the AT&T order canceled cause I didn't want any mishaps - the rep told me that she could not cancel on a pre-order and that everything would be fine if I denied the shipment. I thought everything was okay.
Fast forward to Monday when I hear that people have been getting tracking numbers - now I'm getting worried. I call Apple and the rep says that, indeed, my iPhone has a HOLD on it due to ineligibility to verify from AT&T. He said I would be okay if I called AT&T to cancel that order and get my upgrade status back...so I call AT&T back and escalate to a manager who can cancel my order (didn't ship yet) who grants my upgrade eligibility back.
Thinking everything was going to be okay again, I wait for my tracking number to arrive. I check the order status at around 8pm and see that my order was canceled. At this point, I have 0 open iPhone orders. I didn't actually receive the email, but I placed a new order and emailed applestoreinfo@apple.com with my original order number placed at 4:19pm on the 15th along with my new order number, placed at around 10pm on the 21st.
The next day, I get this in an email:
We are unable to validate that your order is eligible for expedited shipping.
I've been given the runaround by both AT&T and Apple and now I'm stuck at the back of the line. I've given up - just going to wait until I get it in the mail from Apple, because it's not worth stressing over. Still not happy though.
Current status: Ships by July 14th, Not Yet Shipped
As a pro for Apple, though, they have pretty good hold music.
