Unable to sync iPad; Required File Cannot be Found

I'm not able to sync my iPad to my Mac. Each time I try to sync I receive the message "The iPad cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found".

I tried the Restore option in iTunes, but continue to have to same issue. I've been syncing the iPad almost every week since I got it and just started about the same time as iTunes was upgraded.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

I didn't do a very good job searching. There was a fix posted by another user that worked.

It seems that your iPod/iPhone/iPad photo cache got corrupted.
Go to your iPhoto library
Right click and choose show package contents
Delete the folder "iPod Photo Cache"
Close iPhoto Contents folder

Restart iTunes and re-sync. This should solve the problem.
Your iPhoto library will be re-optimised for syncing to your preferred device.
Hopes this solves your problem.

- Open Finder
- On Places, Double click to Open your Computer ID
- Locate Pictures Folder and Open it
- Find the Folder "Ipod Photo Cache"
- Drag the folder to the Trash or Right Click then select Move to Trash
- Restart Itunes and sync your device

I am having the same problem - I have had my Ipad since May of this year and have never had a problem. The fix as outlined in this thread is not working for me. Is there another fix I can try? I have restored my ipad to no avail.

I have had my Ipad since July and have synced without problems, but since upgrading to 10.1 I get an error message, "cannot sync, required file missing,uninstall itunes and reinstall". I have uninstalled and reinstalled but it is still not working. Anyone know how to fix this?

I think something got corrupted and now I can't sync my ipad to my pc.
Please help. I am so frustrated.
Also, I have empty folders that used to have pictures in them.
I want to delete the folders. How can I do that?
How do I delete the photo cache you have been talking about? I have a pc.

i have the same problem with my i pad it will not sync albums i have already synced before,but it will sync other albums i have never synced before,im getting very frustrated grrr.ps i have reformatted but still no joy...

i have just found a way of sorting this problem,i have just synced the albums in question to my i phone 1st then synced the same albums again to my i pad and for some strange reason this has worked, i hope this is useful to someone out there as i tried all the other suggestions with no joy.
