Migration assistant - what is other files and folders

In "Migration Assistant" there is something called "Other files and folders" - I have just transferred it but found out only thing it did for me was occupy 3.5 GB of my hard drive...

What is included in "Other files and folders"???

Mac Mini Server Slim, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Basically, anything at the root level of the source volume not included in the standard Applications, Library, System, & Users folders. For instance, say you have created a root level folder named "Extras" for some miscellaneous files you don't want to keep in any user account's home folder. None of the other options of Migration Assistant would transfer this folder, so the "Other files and folders" option gives you that capability.
