Closing programs in iOS4?

Hi.
Regarding iOS4, is there a way to close programs as you finish using them rather than them all gathering up in the multitasking bar requiring a removal from there?

Acer TravelMate3270, Windows Vista, 2gb ram etc.. etc..

same way you delete icons from your home screen.. tap and hold on a icon in the multitasking bar till they start the giggle and a red button will pop up.. press it and boom its gone.. a little too much work in my opinion well at least for apps that absolutely have no business running in the background..

Lol no problem. Removing the progs from the multitasking bar was never an issue, it's just annoying that everything collects in there as soon as you 'close' or in the case of iOS4 leave a prog running in the background.

Purhaps it should be single tap to close the prog OR double tap to add to multitask bar? Maybe something we need to submit to apple?
