Can you change back to the old OS after update?

After I updated my 3G iPhone, I found it pretty lame bc 1) there's nothing different about my phone with the update and 2) none of my custom ringtones are syncing to my phone when in iTunes it says it is.

I want to know if I can undo the update and go back to what I originally had. I hate this update. So if anyone out there knows how to do this please let me know. thank you

It's probably not really the answer you're waiting for, but I think you should be able to get back your previous release as you're able to get back the initial 'empty' factory version ? But an additional question will be : it is possible to get "exactly" the SAME and WHOLE system you leave, as the one you get with SuperDuper! backup software applied to a MAC ? Without any loss..? I'd never used until now, the restore sytem functionality.

Your question must be of first importance for many people because of course this first v4 release should have some bugs ?

Some unhappy users with OS4 should have tried this restore procedure ?

Cheers.

Thank you for your reply! Although I'm still upset with not having most of the new features work, I did in fact get my music and custom ringtones back and working just by restoring and then re-installing w/my backup. Hopefully Apple works out some bugs so some of the features will start working with my phone.
