iPhone OS 4 car integration

Exact same car, exact same problem.

Spoke to Renault and they basically said you need to speak to Apple its not our fault.

I'm in a US Ford Focus with an Alpine IDA-X303 head unit. USB connection fails. I really need my Pandora back for my commute. Today's silent drive sucked.

Hands-free Bluetooth phone calls still working?

I have the same problem, but with a pioneer radio. It plays music up to 3 seconds and then "no media found". Seems to be a probleme by iOS4.

I use a third party device and when I got in the car this morning it hooked up without me giving it a thought. May have to re pair with the iPhone4 tomorrow since that will be a new device.

Got it - Had the same problem with the USB hookup...I took some advice from a thread here & reset the "general" settings...works like a charm & you won't lose anything of value...good luck!

Hi there, just to add to this I have recently taken a Renault Grand Scenic with Arkymis stereo.
My 3GS worked fine through the USB cable until today with the dreaded OS4 update.
Now my car doesn't recognise the iplayer so I can't get music through the stereo.
I can bluetooth my calls but that's it.
Spoke to Apple - they said speak to Renault
Spoke to Renault - they said we can't do anything about it.
Went back to Apple and they said blah blah security threats blah blah blame Renault blah blah nothing we can do...
I AM FURIOUS WITH APPLE
Their so called Customer Service is pathetic.
If anyone finds an answer to this then please let me know as long journies without music is a grind!!!

Turn the radio on - its the old fashioned device thats been around for about 100 years.

I'm gutted to be honest. It was one of the main reasons I got a Renault megane I music. Would even downgrade to 3.13 just to get it working again. Is it worth contacting Arkymis to see if they have a planned firmware in the pipeline? Mine currently has Version :s2.12m2.12.

I've got the same problem, except with an aftermarket JVC head unit, except that I get no audio at all, since iOS4.

I too have problems with my head unit since the upgrade to 4.0.

I've got a Pioneer DEH-P4050UB. Worked fine prior to 4.0, but with 4.0 it mostly works, but skipping tracks causes the USB connection to drop. It then re-establishes itself - most of the time - as if the phone had been connected for the first time.

Not impressed.

If all you can do is leave sarcastic messages then maybe your time is better spent on forums that require only one hand to type...

Otherwise if anyone has a solution to the Renault cars not playing music after OS4 then please advise.

Others in this thread should say whether resetting General worked for them or not.

Hi all.I updated my 3GS last night to Iphone OS4 and this morning when i went to play music through my "made" for iphone/ipod Pioneer DEH200BT stereo it came up as format error -19.It wouldn't recognise the iPhone at all.At first I thought it could be that my usb cable might have got damaged but it wasn't.I did a simple iPhone reset through the settings menu and alls ok now.Everything seems to work fine again.
