WiFi issues - iPad off MBPro
iPad in the kitchen, across the hall from an MBPro (10.5.8) in the study that hosts the WiFi (802.11n & 128WEP) ...
in the kitchen, setting up the WiFi connection via Settings on the iPad seems to work fine ...
but getting a connection that actually works (in Mail, Safari, EyeTV, and various apps) seems to need us to take the iPad into the study for a moment or two ...
after which we can take it back to the kitchen, and it works fine ...
until, now & then - every hour or two, say - the connection seems to be lost, EyeTV on the iPad freezes, etc ...
until we walk the iPad back to the study, for just a moment or two, then it's fine again ...
using an MBAir in the kitchen has always been fine ...
and with iPhones & an iPod touch no such problem has been noticed ...
an iMac (10.6.4) in the study has no problem with the WiFi ...
walls are just stud-partion (timber & plasterboard) ...
apart from 3G & TV USB-sticks (on the MBPro), everything is from Apple ...
