Lower speaker volume after iOS4 update ?

I'm not crazy. I'm 20 and have great hearing. I'm used to using my iPhone as a "shower radio" and now after the 4.0 update the volume of my phone is decreased. I've checked the settings and the volume lock (or whatever it is called) is not set. Anyone having the same issue ?
I've searched, looked through some of the problem threads but have seen nothing..

3GS, iOS 4, POS

I'm having this same problem with my iPod Touch 3rd Generation 64GB here in Brazil. I don't know if this volume cap problem has something to do with the fact that I bought my iPod in Germany and that European laws determines that the volume cannot be too loud, but I'm sure that the max volume has decreased after the update.

Oh great!! Well if that is the case then thanks Apple for allowing the European Union to treat us even more like children and not let us think for ourselves that if the the volume was too loud we could just maybe turn it down??
Now I can't enjoy my ipod, it just doesn't sound the same, much flater sound especially on all Equalizer settings, only goes louder if EQ is flat or turned off.
Thanks a bunch!!!

That's very sad. I hate when Apple or any other company 'invades' your property and alters things without warning. That's just disrespectful. Apple should give us the option to turn off this volume cap with a specific warning that it could damage our hearing and each one would calculate the risks.
