How to remove Wallpaper showing behind apps?

Seems pretty stupid to not just have a "no wallpaper" option..

You can't really remove it but you can replace it. Either save a plain black "jpg" file to your camera roll and then select and use it as a background or get something that's a little nicer than the stock one over here http://idesigniphone.com/category/textures and do the same.

I use the leather background. It looks very nice indeed!

By doing this will you also lose the picture that you have at start up or just behind the icons? I'd like to leave my picture when the phone is locked, I just prefer the icon background be black.

Take a photo with the phone but cover the lens tightly with your thumb. This will create a pure black image. Then go into settings and select wallpaper the usual way but choose this black 'photo' from your camera roll instead and hey presto.
You could also download a black image from google images "plain black wallpaper" or create a black image using Photoshop or similar app.

No, you can have a separate background for your front picture and behind your icons. Go to Settings->Wallpaper and when you select one and save it, it will ask you where you want it to go.

i just had my phone replace due to damage... got all my apps back, including my wallpaper that is a "if found please call"... was an app i bought (www.myfoundcast.com).

NOW, I have that showing as well as only 3 rows of active apps. i liked having the wall paper as first "page" so that apps don't get accidentlly deleted.... any suggestions?

Hi, thanks for the useful info, I did the same thing with my iphone 4 and really want to get rid of the wallpaper with icons in front. Loved your idea about using the photos on the link provided but couldn't quite see how to d/l any of them. When I click on submit or request nothing happens, any ideas/suggestions would be gratefully receive. Thanks in advanced
