iPhone iOS4 + Nike Plus = Bad Combination

I updated my iPhone 3GS to OS 4.0 yesterday. My workout history is wiped. My number of workouts, miles, time run and calories burnt are not my own. For example, I've only run68.3 miles but the iPhone shows 193.11!! However, the personal records seem to be my own.

After my short run today, I noticed that my run distance and pace was not recorded although my time was. The sensor appeared to be linked.

Is there a way to get this fixed so I can stay on track with my coaching program? Thanks!

Same thing happened to me with my ipod touch (newest generation). My entire workout history was wiped clean while my total distance ran, calories, time, etc remained there. It's a real shame that this happened after updating to iOS4. Even worse, the Nike+ application does not run as well as before. The time elapsed stays at the same time when i check on my progress, and only updates after a few seconds*.

* For example, when i check to see my progress, the time might read 56 min 23 sec, and stay at that time for about 6 seconds before adjusting to 56 min 29 sec.

The whole program feels a lot slower as well. Going from the main window to selecting a program type, then choosing the music, and finally activating the sensor takes about 5x as long than before i upgraded to iOS4. I only hope Apple and/or Nike can work together to give me back my history of runs on my iPod Touch so that I won't have to go on my macbook pro and log on to the Nike site to keep track of my runs. I just hope someone out there can help.

i have several different issues with iOS4 and nike+ now that makes it pretty much unusable for me now sadly.

1.) when i walk i listen to mp3 links thru safari. now when i have nike+ and safari quicktime player running simultaneously safari player will randomly freeze and go to black screen - the only way to get out is to do a hard restart.

also ffwd and rewind buttons do not show.

2.) previously when a call came in nike+ would pause, now it pauses with every text. i text while walking circles around the track, so now i would have to un-pause nike+ constantly.

i have been able to check accuracy because it keeps freezing and i have to restart.

😟

I'm also having the same types of issues.

1. No spoken feedback when I press the Home button when using the "time" workout. However, there if I use the "basic" workout the spoken feedback works. My Ipod Touch is set to "female" spoken feedback.

2. When I pause any type of workout (time or basic) more than twice, it no longer records the pace or distance.

3. Sometimes after I press pause in during a workout, the music will just start over to a different song on its own.

4. My calibrations are gone.

5. Workout history gone.

I downloaded the new iPhone iOS4 update 4 days ago and my Nike Plus stopped working. The ipod detects the sensor but my miles and pace are not recorded.
I bought the nike plus 2 weeks ago and this is really frustrating. I went to the apple store yesterday and all they told me was to "keep looking for new updates." Thanks a lot apple.

I upgraded my 3GS to IOS 4 (well at this point it's not much of an upgrade!), and I'm having the same issues with Nike+. I did lose all my history but retained the cumulative totals. At least my history is still visible on the Nike+ site. The worst thing, however, is that after I pause a workout and resume, the software tells me it it resuming workout and everything looks right on the screen, but it does not continue recording distance. The time continues to accumulate so my average time goes up! This has happened for the last two days and there doesn't seem to be a fix. Turning off and then restarting Nike+ did help the sensor be recognized, which wasn't happening right after the upgrade, but the pause function is virtually worthless now. So, today I ran 6.5 miles and it only recorded 5.25 - at 10 minutes per mile! Aaarrrgghh. Shouldn't they test this stuff more thoroughly before releasing? This is one app I use pretty much daily and now it's not working properly. I'm going to be waiting very impatiently for a fix 😟

I don't know if this will help anyone since we're all having similar but slightly different problems, but yesterday I bought a new pair of running shoes and a new sensor so I could keep a pair at work. Anyway, I had to pair the new sensor and this morning when I went out for my run I had to stop and it actually worked when I resumed! I'll re-link the old sensor this afternoon and test it to see if that is the answer - relinking. Also I noticed that I now have to push the "done" button in Nike+ or it will run in the background and drain my battery. That wasn't the case before but I do see now that this is the main battery problem, so that problem seems to be resolved too if I just remember to hit the "done" button. I'll post again after I re-link the old sensor and test the "resuming workout" function to see if distance is recorded.
