App crash since iOS 4.0...

Many of my apps have frozen or crashed consistently since the update. I'm sorry I updated at the current moment.

I would make sure your apps are the most current version. About 6 of my apps had updates stating each were 4.0 tested. I hope this helps you.

All of my apps are up to date - and every app crashes (outside of the native ones that come with iOS 4. Anyone else seeing this?

Yup me too, lots of my apps crash it really *** even safaris been crashing

i have upgraded to ios 4 and since then whilst on a call without any apps running my i phone has crashed and restarted. very anoying.

anyone know of a fix?

Apps crash. Battery drains VEEERY fast. Photos in archive cannot be sent by email or networks like Palringo anymore. Photos cannot be looked at they are fuzzy. A ****** UPDATE.
Now they tell me its not possible to downgrade again. Holy moley they are going in Microsoft direction fast

I have the same problem with the azcentral app. The app works on my old ipod touch (not upgrated to iOs4). Also, I noticed that the azcentral app seems to have been removed from the app store.

Many apps will have to be updated to work with the new iOS. Even if you have the most current version of the app, the developer may not have updated his/her app(s) to work with iOS4. Contact the developer of the apps that are crashing for more info specific to that app.

Besides waiting patiently for app updates, you can try reinstalling the apps, resetting your iPhone (holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons until the iPhone restarts, displaying the Apple logo screen), or restoring through iTunes. As no two iPhones/apps are exactly the same, you will having varying levels of success.

I'm experiencing the same issues. Not with apps from the app store but with the native iPhone apps. They not only take a long time to launch but then they crash. I can't play music. Safari crashes when I browse. Maps crash. Contacts sporadically crash and my iPhone spontaneously reboots periodically. Apple please fix this on the 3GS.

I have a iphone 3GS 16GB and since upgrading to IOS 4 my phone has become unstable, especially during phone call if the call is of a duration is say 1min+ the phone often just freezes goes to black screen with white apple. I can't immediately restart it either. it's not a battery issue there is alway plenty of charge.
This is my business phone and you can't work with a phone which is now this defective.
When is the next upgrade to fix this? or is it HTC phone.........

i have just upgraded my iphone 3GS to OS 4.0.1 and my phone is still crashing on long phone calls. Any ideas welcome? if anyone at Apple at would like to help I would be grateful.

Me, too, very unstable upgrade. Calls drop much more frequently now, never had call drop problem before upgrade. Lots of buggy occurrences, screen will rotate, but menu doesn't, apps freeze, ICal scrambled colors in my calendars. Very disappointed.

There needs to be a new update as 4.0.1 still is not stable on medium length phone conversation just goes into white apple screen then freezes. This is pathetic given the price of the product and that the primary use is a phone. Or is this an excuse to make us buy iphone 4 but friends who have these say they are buggy.
All I want is something that does what it says on the tin!

Try this and see if this improves things for you...it has for me thus far...

Read up on how you can manage the "multitasking" and close the apps which are crashing... My theory is those apps are in a bad state and that saved state never really is cleared!

Close the apps in question and Double click the home key to bring up the bar for multitasking apps. Find the icon for the crashing app (scroll right if needed) and press until the red delete icon appears. Delete the icon which my theory is actually removing the saved state file for the app. Now the next time you start the app it will be completely clean.

Doing this for each app crashing has dramatically improved the frequency of crashes for me.
