Safari 5 Mouse Cursor Disappears

I recently upgraded (or downgraded) to Safari 5. However whenever I enter a page with adverts or javascript, my mouse cursor disappears completely until I leave that page.
You know, those annoying interactive ads on youtube or other websites, e.g. "shoot 3 ipods to win a free ipod" kind of thing. I can disable Javascript, but that doesn't always help.

Any Ideas why the cursor disappears? Thanks.

HI Richard and welcome to Apple Discussions..

From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset, relaunch Safari.

If you still have problems, go to the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences. Make note of all the preferences under each tab. Quit Safari. Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move this file com.apple.safari.plist to the Desktop.

Relaunch Safari and see if that makes a difference. If not, move the .plist file back to the Preferences folder. If Safari functions as it should, move that .plist file to the Trash.

If necessary, go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari and move the "cache.db" file to the Trash. Relaunch Safari.

Same here after Safari 5 update, only on certain web pages, but I don't see a real pattern. It is REALLY hard to get the cursor back. I just opened a history link to a page after restarting Safari 5, and this page did the same thing in a new window, but after getting the cursor back I was able to go to the Safari menu bar and ADD the link to my bookmarks, then copied it from a working Safari window, so I could paste it below. Now perhaps others can test this page, assuming it stays up awhile, it's now 9pm EST on 7-1-10.

Just TESTED deleting that PLIST file, but it did NOT work for me in Safari 5.0 on Snow Leopard 10.6.4. If you try this I suggest SAVING that file, so you can put it back in the same folder as you will lose a few preferences. Any other ideas?

Same disappearing mouse cursor on this page:

No it's not, it's hit or miss, but since I can recreate the problem, using that site link, it seems like a perfect test, at least for me. For example I tried the delete plist pref listed above, and after clearing the Safari history, and cache, and quitting Safari, that same page when loaded after restarting Safari 5.0, shows the same problem.

What is the point of your question?

As you can see/read here, it's NOT mouse specific. My logitech mouse is fully updated, but since this behavior is web page specific, why do you suggest mouse driver issues? I will however test other browsers, just for fun, but this thread is about THIS problem using Safari, NOT Firefox or any other browser. As far as "non-internet apps", AGAIN, this thread and this problem has been listed as a problem on specific web pages. So now I'll ask you a question, since NO ONE has responded to the link I posted as an example of this problem. Can you load and see in Safari 5.0 the site link I posted with NO disappearing mouse cursor? I don't mind contributing to finding a solution, but lets be clear about the problem, and how to test for it.
