How do I get Airport to work with Mac and Windows on same computer

I am having problems getting my Airport to work on the Windows side of my iMac. The Mac side works fine. I have installed the software on the Windows side but every time I try to log into my network I get a message that it can't connect. The message says it is out of range which is strange since the Airport is only three feet away from the computer. My network does show up in the selection list of networks to log onto.

Can anyone help me with this?

That probably means you installed AirPort Utility. That would be necessary to help you configure an Apple AirPort base station if you didn't have a Mac, but won't help you connect via AirPort from within Windows. For the drivers you need for that, you'll need to insert your OS X install disc while Windows is running.

Like iFelix wrote, there are no Apple-specific drivers required to connect to an AirPort network using a Windows client. I'm not aware of any, I've never installed any, and every PC I've ever used connects to every AirPort network effortlessly.

Unfortunately, I don't know what's causing the OP's problem, but I doubt he needs to install anything on the Windows partition. I suspect there is a Windows firewall setting or something similar that's blocking the connection.

Or perhaps I'm misinterpreting his problem...?

I wasn't arguing that point. I was speculating that a Mac running Windows in Boot Camp might need Apple drivers in Windows to operate the WiFi hardware of a Mac. It wouldn't surprise me that Microsoft didn't include drivers for that environment.

Me neither. The closest thing I had to the OP's situation was Virtual PC, on my G3 iMac, but it didn't need any special configuration to connect wirelessly. It just worked... I never gave drivers any thought.

I realize Boot Camp is different (and I removed VPC a long time ago).
