Is there another program like Garageband thats free?

I'm looking for something like Garageband or MAGIX Music Maker. I'm running Tiger, or I wouldn't be asking. I can't find anything good, and my computer doesn't have the Garageband that normally comes on it.

eMac, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

It's not free... take a look on ebay you can pick up iLife 06 at a very reasonable cost and it should run on your computer.
