Same issue as everyone else, and troubleshooted issue to the maximum.

Issue: unable to open itunes on iphone 5, 1 laptop and 1 PC.

Error: Unable to open itunes (or very similar) depending on the device i'm accessing it from.

Strange thing is, I can access a DIFFERENT itunes account on my iphone, PC and laptop WITHOUT any issue - this obviously indicates it's NOT a connectivity issue with any of my equipment - despite Apple of course trying to pull that one!

Oh, and to throw a further spanner in the works, I can access Itunes and App Store on my iPad without any issue at all.

    Anyone care to tackle this?

Starting having problems on my iPad 4 a couple of days ago, after downloading the latest 6.1.3 firmware. The main problem began when my apps needed download updates from iTunes - it just froze and did nothing, followed by a pop up message from iTunes.

I then followed some of the suggestions above to no avail. I even tried a complete delete and reset on my iPad, hoping

that would clear everything up. All that happened is that instead of 5 apps needing updating - I now have 24 (and counting)...

I'm assuming that the problem is the firmware, as my iPhone is working as normal staying on 6.1.2 (obviously I won't be updating until this is sorted out)...

I'm not sure as to whom I should contact - Apple or iTunes? I'm kind of hoping that the firmware is the issue and that

a resolution is forth coming! Appreciate any feedback, thanks.

WOW!! Talk about quick service. Less than 5 minutes after sending my previous post - everything was resolved and working. Amazing! So, I guess the answer is to leave a message on this forum.

My thanks and appreciation to the tech that fixed this...

I'm having this same problem. My pad is on 6.1.2 but I can't connect to the store. The odd thing is it would do updates but not download new apps. So i logged out of my itunes acct and know i can't even get back in at all. My iPhone5 is on 6.1 and i can connect to the store to download new and updates.  What is the deal?

I seem to be noticing a pattern - after people leave a message on the forum - the issue seems to miraculously fix itself shortly after.

I was able to connect to iTunes etc last night, literally about 10 minutes after uploading my original post.

Just to note, this also took out my iTunes Match service too during this outage.

What I can say is that it doesn't appear to be user related (its something definitely wrong on Apples side)

I intend to get to the bottom of this with apple, I want answers and want to know the root cause. I will post again here if i do get a suitable response from them.

But you know what?, in my case I didn't even finish posting when I noticed that the issue was solved in my IPad. What I believe happens is that somehow using your apple ID to log in into this forum, triggers something on apple servers that fixes the problem.

I would suggest that anyone reading these forums looking for an answer to the same problem, just try this: Log In into apple forums and just wait for like 10 minutes, if your problem is solved post about it so we know about it as well.

If your problem isn't fixed and after you post about it, it miraculously solves itself, then we would know that there is something fishy going on, like someone from apple reading these complaints and solving these individual issues one by one.

I'm having the same problem. Can't connect to iTunes on laptop, iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.  I noticed when I tried to update my IOS. I've searched all day for an answer to no avail i even uninstalled iTunes on my laptop!!  So now I'm posting in this forum to see if this resolves my issues. Come on Apple sort this out.

My issue mysteriously resolved itself after posting here also. So, if posting to the forum resolves these pesky issues, then I'd like to talk about the fact that everytime they upgrade iTunes, I have to move SQLite3.dll back to the correct folder...every.darn.time. I think they do it to annoy Windows users. Thoughts?
