What worked for me was to go to settings and sign out as well, but instead of signing in in the settings, go to app store application instead, click on the app you could not download and then choose 'sign in with existing apple id' and type down your name and password there.

SOLVED!!

Well, I had the same issue with my iPad2 from the moment I got it home; had severve problems with iTunes / AppStore, and the connection to YouTube and GameCenter failed frequently. I phoned support, but all they came up with was a reset of the iPad, which then was OK for 5 minutes before things started to fail again.

But no matter how many connections failed, I was always able to browse the internet through Safari, and I could ping the iPad from my pc, so there was a internet link. And all my other WiFi-gadgets was working flawlessly; iPhone, internet radio, VoIP-telephone...

When I then took my iPad to work, and hooked it up to our guestnet, I had no problems with AppStore or iTunes, so I then began to think that my WiFi-router was the culprit. So I went to the store and bought a Cisco/Linksys router, on the condition that if my iPad still wouldn't connect, I'd get to return the router.

Now it does not appear that the store will get the Cisco router back anytime soon... The iPad has been working flawlessly ever since I swapped my Belkin router (2 yrs old) for the Cisco router.

The first two things I would do is

Trying turning the ipad off and on

check to make sure Restrictions on your iPad is turned off.
1) press home button
2) touch settings
3) touch General
4) touch restrictions
if enabled touch "Disable Restrictions", at witch point it will ask you for the four digit code.
If restrictions are enabled, and you do not know the four digit code you will have to restore your ipad.

If that doesn't fix your issue can you tell us more about your issue? like dose the App Store open? Dose the app stay open? Is there a message? extra

Greetings,
i restarted my iPad. made sure that restrictions are disabled.
whenever i press the AppStore or iTunes the gray windows will open and "Loading" will appear, then the Blue box will appear with "Cannot connect to iTunes Store".
I'm sure that I'm online bcz i can browse, also it was working few days ago.

i go to Settings - Store - View account = a small white window will apeear and "Loading" then it says " One Moment Please, Connecting to iTunes Store, If iTunes doesn't open, click the iTunes application icon in your Dock or Windows Task Bar"

Okay, this makes no sense but it worked for me. I had the same problem.

My desktop could connect to Itunes so I knew it was working.

My iPad internet was working. But I couldnt connect to iTunes/App Store through the App Store App or through my iPod app.

But I went to the app store through safari -- by clicking on a link in App Shopper (the website that tells you about new apps). Safari took me directly to the app store and it worked.

then suddenly both the app store app and the ipod app could connect to iTunes again.

Go figure.

Hope this works for you. Am curious to hear.

I had the same problem on my ipad... I was connected via Wifi, my itunes apps worked but my apps app didn't; saying 'Cannot connect to iTunes'

After trying some some of the suggestion I found online with no result, I did the following.

* Settings
* Store
* view account

It will asks you to sign in, verify your account by entering your password.

I then turned on genius for apps, it took me straight into the apps app and loaded fine....
I have exited and entered the ipad apps app numerous time now and works perfect every time.

I have since gone back to my itunes settings and turned off Genius and can still access okay.

Hope it works for you!

Hi.
Some days ago, when I tried buy an app on App Store, return this message : "Cannot Connect to App Store". I Sign Out without problems and try Sign In again. Show the window Sign In with option Use Existing Account, Create New Account and Cancel. I select Use Existing Account but, for my surprise, the window to include my account and password flash for just one second and disappears.
I don't know why, but I can't Sign In on my App Store or iTunes Store.
I already tried restart all settings, restart network and not work.
There are others with same problem ? Could anybody help me ?
Thanks a lot.
