Safari 5 - Download folder

When I was using Safari 4 and I decided to download a piece of software, Safari allowed me to choose which folder I wished to save that particular file to. Since installing Safari 5 the download goes immediately to the \users\%%name\Downloads folder causing me to move the file to where I want it to be after the download is finished.

The Options menu only allows me to select a folder different from the Downloads folder. Have I missed a setting somewhere or is the download process limited in Safari 5?

Dell Precision T3400, Windows 7, none

I've seen a bunch of threads on this, and I'm trying to figure out the same thing. I wonder if it's a bug, considering I have the box checked that's supposed to ask where we want it saved.

Yea this is the same reason I'm here. This is anoying I uninstalled the Safari 5 and went back to the Safari 4.

Would be great if we could get a solution for this

I have the same concern. I want to choose what to do, I don't want the dumb computer to do it for me.
It is a logical thing to improve or add features to an update and not to hide or eliminate them.
I will go back to ver. 4

I have to unistall Safari 5 to be able to install Safari 4. The good thing is that I did not loose my bookmarks.
