iPad video failing to appear

I recently put about 12 full movies on my iPad. Some were digital copies from purchased DVDs and some were created using Clone DVD. I went on vacation and all of them played perfectly.

When I came back I synced my iPad and all the videos disappeared. I selected the option on the Movies tab to "Sync Movies" and "Automatically Include All Movies" and immediately transferred all movies back to my iPad. Now when I go to the Videos app on my iPad the videos do not show up. They show up in iTunes as being physically on the iPad. When I look at the "About" section in General settings, I see 17 total videos (some extra kids tv shows were downloaded) and the total video space used is 20.41 GB.

From everything I can tell the videos are physically on the iPad, but they will not show up even though they were there and played perfectly before. HELP! Where the heck are my videos? And why won't they show up?

Thank You.

ok, I have found if you delete a music album you have had on the device for a while, it will fix the issue most times. Also putting something new on sometimes fixes it. In effect you have to do something tha makes it rebuild whatever table it keeps all the videos, music and podcasts in, and hope it does it correctly.

ALSO...

Goodreader playes videos quite well and is immune to this issue. Since it is not part of the ipad / iphone OS. SO... if you need to depend on a video being there for you, put it in goodreader or any other player, and you will at least be able to view it on the road.

Hey apple, a $1000 pruduct that needs these kind of work around should be a real embarrassment to you, just sayin......

I have this exact problem. Do a sync that contains new videos, and they don't appear on the iPad (although you can see they are physically there on the iPad via iTunes. My workaround is to basically always sync twice, and they appear.

I don't have this issue with my iPhone (iOS 4.01) and didn't have it on iOS 3.1.2 either - it's only ever affected my iPad (32GB model w/wifi).

No problem was not fixed with itunes 10. Actually i'm here cause it started for me after upgrade. All my music, audiobooks and video's appeared on itunes under my ipad, but i couldn't even open ipod and video on ipad. In settings-general--About it said 0 songs, o video.

Finally after reading all your posts and trying all suggestions (still didn't work) I looked under troubleshooting in my ipad user manual. Decided to try reseting. Must mention first that i had removed all music and video's before so I had none according to itunes installed on my ipadé

Went to settings--general--reset--and I reset all settings. Bingo it worked. Synced my video, songs, audiobooks. Got them all back. Hope this works for you.

How long its going to last tho......
