I have this problem as well. Videos appear and disappear at will. It's either all my videos or none. I dleted all the non-DVD digital copy videos and it made no difference. Incredibly frustrating.

Called Apple yesterday, and the guy had no idea what could be causing this issue. They took note of it and said they'd pass it down to the engineers.

I have noticed that if an app has changed (either by updating or buying in iTunes or on the iPad) that the sync will act like a toggle and videos will be available - until next time an app changes and syncs.

I have 2 ipads. And 15 videos. All are currently on the 64 gb wifi and play beautifully. They were also all on the 32gb wifi and played for 1 night. The iPad was then synched again the next day to add music from iTunes and although the movies still show as being physically on the iPad in the breakdown bar the videos application shows no videos whatsoever.

I have done as some suggest and re sychned many times. Completely rebooted and started again and again and although physically on the pad do not show in movies, how can it be an issue with the movies if I am watching one of them now on the other iPad, this is &&!&£!&£!&££! Annoying as one of the main reasons to won this thing was for the kids to have their movies in the back of the car on long trips.

Not impressed by the total lack of any response on this

Maybe it needs some sort of bumper........

This is a massive massive problem with iOS 3.x and iTunes 9.x on both the iPad and iPhone.

My one consolation is that my iPhone 4 has been perfect so far, so can't wait for the iOS 4 update for my iPad.

I just bought an iPad 64gb Wifi/3G this afternoon, came home, had to plug it into iTunes, it updated the software to 3.2.1. I sync'd movies that I bought in iTunes to my new iPad; I'm running iTunes 9.2.1.

None of the movies are showing up on my iPad, but there is 9gb of space now being taken up! The movies show they are sync'd in iTunes, but the iPad says no music!

I'm ******! I just dropped almost a grand on Apple's Magical Device and yet, right out of the box, using only updated Apple technology, this device DOESN'T work as intended.

I'm getting a refund if this isn't resolved by tomorrow. It's ridiculous this is happening.

I have the same issue trying to sync TV shows downloaded from the iTunes store. The files have clearly transferred but TV Shows does not show up as an option in the iPad library.

While not a perfect solution, i changed the settings on one TV show on my PC from "TV Show" to "Podcast". After sync again, it showed up and played perfectly as a podcast.

OK ALL, LETS TRY TO FIND THE WORK AROUND OURSELVES.

Apple is NO help on five calls, and I evidently know more about the iPad and it's capabilities than their training class, according to the upper tier responses I have gotten. The reps tried to help, but had no help available to THEM on this issue.

    ========
Problem seems to happen when buying from the apple store then doing a sync.

When problem happens, music, PodCasts, videos, and audio books disappear yet are still on the iPad.

I got the content to reappear by:

1.) Downloading a new PodCast episode FROM THE IPAD
2.) syncing (content still unavailable after sync)
3.) Choosing to sync the new PodCast from iTunes and pressing APPLY
4.) Videos and all else came back to available on the iPad after the sync.

PLEASE SOMEONE ELSE TRY AND SEE IF THIS CONSISTENTLY WORKS.

Videos were still there after the backup, thank the gods, the fracking thing worked for once.
    ========

Interesting note I am now doing a backup and the iPad has a black screen with only the top status bar visible. I will let you know if the videos are still visible after the backup is done. I am suspicious of the backup process as well.

Word to the wise after a good backup where you iPad is working perfectly zip up the backup directory. You may need it someday in that state from that day.

Hey apple we need a better more complete backup solution as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UH-OH NEXT SYNC NO VIDEOS AGAIN. NICE…..

1.) Unchecked the new PodCast clicked apply (no content)
2.) Rechecked the PodCast clicked apply (no content)
3.) Clicked the checkbox on the single episode clicked apply content returned after I saw the file copy over

Now trying to sync because I love to be aggravated….

Whoa content still there (rhyme or reason still alluding me)

Been having the same problem for the last half an hour.
    Try the following.
    1. Load itunes and connect ipad to computer
    2. Hold power and home button until iPad switches off and
    3. Let go of home button whilst still holding onto the power button. Once it is powered on you can discontinue pressing the power button.
It should sync with iTunes and work fine, mine did
Hope it works for you guys.
