Yeah!! Buying and iPod Touch with Skype instead of an iPhone will sure get back at Apple!! Or is it AT&T you're somehow POd at? Brilliant!!!

wow guys. just wanted to let you know i feel really bad for you guys. hate to rub it in at all, and im not trying to, but im glad i stood in line for 6 hours on launch day. i think everyone that reads this thread has been taught a valuable lesson though. never sign for a package until you verify you are not being handed an empty box.

when calling apple ask for customer relations DO NOT speak to customer service they could care less. CUSTOMER RELATIONS is who you NEED to speak with.

In instances where FedEx & UPS won't deliver to a residential address (rural routes, isolated areas), they hand of packages to USPS to be delivered to the end consumer, or held for pickup at the local post office location.

Having lived in locations where this is the case, I can tell you for a fact, that USPS would deliver an iPhone in such a situation. As to it being delivered on Launch day... not likely.

Couple yrs ago had 2 gold coins stolen out of the package upon arrival.

Yea $@#% happens. More so with fedex for some reason.

    Just an update:

So five days later and after 5 calls to apple support (they said customer support and relations was the same), 2 calls to AT&T to shut down the stolen phone, 3 calls to FedEx (least helpful of the bunch by far), and one visit to my local police dept to file a stolen property report and investigation (they were very helpful).

Apple has still not called me back after 5 days to set up a new phone shipment, even though every day I call they say they will be calling back next day. They have said this is quite a crazy situation but I have more evidence/information than they usually get.

I am told the order fulfillment dept will be calling me today to arrange the new shipment.

    I sure hope so!

apple said that my iphone replacement has been processed and i will receive it on july 23.

I just got off the phone with an Apple support supervisor and she told me they are still running the investigation and will be calling me in the next few days as soon as more info comes to them. They did contact my local police dept and got the report. My best guess is they are all really waiting on FedEx to clear with them the fact that their driver stole the item and will file for the insurance etc.

beekong - I really hope you dont have to wait 3 weeks for your replacement, as that also would mean I will have to wait 3 weeks! After already being told I would be expedited a new phone within a week, that would be terribly heartbreaking.

This is beyond the 3rd strike for FedEx and me. No way I will be putting my trust in that company again!

I've had far more delivery issues with UPS than I've ever had with FedEx, so it happens with all couriers, unfortunately.

Human behavior being what it is, theft occurs at even the best companies.

that's what they told me. they said that all the phones were sold out and that they don't have one that they can send out right away. hopefully they were not just pulling your leg when they said that they're sending one to you within a week.

Obviously someone at Fedex is looking for white ones. If they opened it and saw what was inside but didn't take it then it's obviously not what they wanted.

who thinks this is just a coincidence?

my friend who works at fedex said that they might lose their contract with apple because a lot of iphones were getting "lost", i prefer "stolen". my other friend was an accomplice to stolen iphones 3gs' and blackberry's a year ago from fedex. obviously i dont kick it with him anymore because i was gonna report him and his friend who was the one actually stealing them from fedex when they were scanning them in. this is why im not ordering mine online, i heard they're going to be shipped fedex, and this guy hasn't been caught yet. anyways, i hope all of you get your cases resolved and your iphones soon. best of luck to you guys!

Anyone NOT receive the phone at all? Mine still shows "on Fedex vehicle for delivery" since 06/23. FEDEX is absolutely no help at all. All they say is that "its lost and you have to call Apple. Well I called Apple everyday for 6 days and get a different answer each time. On the 24th, I was told that they had to wait 3 business days and would check with FEDEX. I called later that day and a "manager" told me they would expedite it. I am not sure what that means. Today, 6 days later, I was told by Apple that FEDEX had not replied to their inquiry and another manager was goingto "expedite" it again. She also promised to call by 5PM Pacific time. Lets see. Meanwhile no new iPhone, or old 3GS since I sold it.
