I upgraded from an iPhone 3G to iPhone 4 today. Before I upgraded the 3G to the 4, I had installed iOS 4 so I just did a restore when I changed to the new iPhone 4. I don't have the compass app on any of my screens. However, I can find it in Spotlight and use it. How do I make the icon appear so that I can file it with my map applications in a folder? THANKS.

When I was playing around with iOS 4 on the 3G Monday, I did set up a UTILITIES folder; but the Compass app is not in there.
Oh my goodness, I just found it. It went into my STORES folder. Imagine that! At any rate, you helped me find it by telling me to look in a folder, so THANKS a bunch!
LOL. Well, we now know to advise people to check each & every folder for their compass. In reality, I'm not sure how many folks coming from a 3G even know there is supposed to be one there; but I'm sure they will run across it one of these days. Let's hope they don't try to play it. 🙂
I had the same thing. Upgraded from a 3G running iOS4 (backup / restore to new), couldn't find the compass! Used spotlight to find it, turned up in my games folder.
