Sep 8, 2010 9:21 PM in response to Chad Evansby Greg Fulco,I don't want to call it too soon, but I think iOS 4.1 has fixed this problem! Lately it's been such an issue that I've started using webmail in Safari. But since upgrading to 4.1 today I haven't seen any no sender, no subject e-mails in my mail app. Keeping my fingers crossed that they don't show up. -
Sep 12, 2010 11:11 PM in response to Chad Evansby Ryuk2010,I went to the following:
Settings/Mail/(My email account) 'Gmail' then turned OFF 'Archive Messages'
This got rid of all the 'No Sending' emails that were stuck in my inbox. im not sure how long this will last but it worked for me now. -
Sep 20, 2010 7:13 AM in response to Chad Evansby jkb28,I had the same problem today with my iPhone 4. Rebooting the phone solved the issue. -
Sep 23, 2010 2:40 PM in response to Chad Evansby ArJunaBug,I have an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.1 and I have this problem. There is a temporary fix: Go back to the root folder in your email and look into the "sent" mail folder and then go back to your inbox. This is still incredibly annoying. I rebooted yesterday after seeing this problem, it worked for a little while then it came back with a vengeance.
I just got three iPhone 4's from ATT with a new family plan a week ago. So far I do not like what I see. The Bluetooth on this phone is unreliable and it drops calls every time I put the phone in my pocket (yes, I have the Apple supplied "bumper).
This past weekend I was sailing a boat from Baltimore to Washington DC, I tried to download an App from the Apple Store and it would not let me because the app was 32MB and ATT/Apple have a strict 20MB limit on downloads. I was so ****** as I really needed this app for what I was doing and had no access to wifi in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay.
I have three weeks left to return this crap and get myself a Droid 2 with Verizon or an HTC EVO 4G with Sprint. I am seriously thinking of leaving ATT just to get a decent phone after being a customer since 1991. -
Oct 12, 2010 9:13 PM in response to hardscanby KarlisNana,I have had this problem starting this afternoon...up to 28 messages so far today. It has occurred on several occasions over the past 4 months then disappears spontaneously. All the messages are from No Sender, No Content and dated 12/31/69. they can not be deleted nor opened. very frustrating. -
Nov 6, 2010 7:45 AM in response to Chad Evansby iamanerd,I have this problem on the iPhone 4, iOS 4.0 and 4.1. Still no fix.
Email is critical for me and I miss several messages a day as a result of this. Often the messages go away entirely on a reset and then they are missing forever.
God, I miss my Blackberry, I switched about two months ago and it is too late to return the iPhone now.
I wonder if Steve Jobs doesn't get half his email (in which case perhaps he didn't get the one about the missing email)? Or maybe he has a Blackberry tucked away in his pocket? -
Nov 12, 2010 4:50 PM in response to Chad Evansby Deb Schoeman,I have had this problem for a week. I ended up with 18 emails in one day with the date 12/31/69. I deleted my gmail account and waited a day. The next day I received 23 with the date 12/31/00. I deleted my account again. I set it back up today and so far I haven't gotten any more. I have heard from others that this usually happens with gmail accounts through the Iphone mail app. If it doesn't stop I'm going to have to delete my gmail account and go with someone else.
Has anyone resolved it? And, does everyone with this issue have a gmail account? -
Nov 24, 2010 9:07 AM in response to Deb Schoemanby cerb,i wonder if there will be a fix any time soon? c'mon, apple, this is ridiculous - sitting it out for 5 months and several updates? what's the big deal with fixing this issue? or do you pretend it doesn't exist and promote the solution as the big leap forward on some future keynote?
steve, what's going on in your company? please help soon. -
Nov 25, 2010 6:08 AM in response to julieditorby Obysk,This is exactly what I tried on my iPhone 4 and it worked like a charm. Just go to your "sent" messages and then back into your "inbox" to clear all the No Sender messages. -
Nov 28, 2010 9:17 AM in response to Obyskby DarkOneX,Obysk right but that's already been said, you can also just go to any other folder or mark them as read too with MarkRead app. HOwever this is just a way to temp get rid of them, definitely not a fix. -
Jan 26, 2011 2:53 PM in response to Chad Evansby mk13139,Take a look at my (potential) fix:

I hope it works for you, it did for me!
(I haven't got any 'no sender, no subject' mails for the past two weeks!) -
Apr 10, 2011 6:05 PM in response to Chad Evansby Sooz2010,I just had the exact same thing on my iPad - I turned the iPad off and then back on and they were gone. -
Aug 2, 2011 5:11 AM in response to Chad Evansby ArtFArm,'JulieEditor''s quick fix worked like a charm for me...........thanks!

Aug 15, 2011 12:10 AM in response to Chad Evansby Jacku,Hi guys,
I tried everything in this thread. Such as toggle on and off settings, ending task via multitask etc. But it just won't work.
I even deleted the account and re-creating a new one. Still no joy.
I nearly went down to do a full restore which saved me previously. But I really didn't want to go down that path!
So in the end this worked for me -
SAFE MODE.
I managed to grab all my mails back in Safe Mode. Reboot back to normal mode. All back to normal now.
Hope this helps some people!
