How to change default search engine from Google.nl to Google.com?

I'm a Brit living in Holland. By default the Safari 5 search uses the local Google - google.nl - but this returns a lot of results in Dutch. I would prefer to set this to google.co.uk or google.com. Is there any way to do this - e.g. by editing a preferences file?
Mac OS X (10.6.4)
