Green Screen

I apologize if this issue has already been addressed but I am having trouble seeing the display. This is the only computer I own and the issue concerns a 2008 MacBook Pro 15" where green vertical lines appear on the screen and make it very difficult to view the screen. It is extremely annoying and happens intermittently, sometimes for longer stints then others. I am very careful with my Macbook pro, it hardly leaves my desk, so I am puzzled as to why this is happening. I have enclosed a few images of this phenomena below. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

In 2008 there were two types of MacBook Pros for sale (early and late). I will assume that you have the early '08 (your pictures are dark, but the hinge looks like the old one).

The NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT Card was recalled. See http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2377 for any questions.

Only advice I can say is bring it into an Apple store if you can. It should be free of charge just to have the visit. Based upon what I'm seeing the logic board (where the video card is) needs to be replaced.
