Aug 19, 2010 1:47 AM in response to Xplorer77by The Elz,1st of all, Apple DO read these forums as I have had emails from them complaining that I should not be telling people to downgrade their iPhone 3g's to 3.1.3 (they say it comes under jailbreaking, though when you do it, your phone is NOT jailbroken)& removing my posts mentioning this.
They just dont care if the customer is unhappy & the usual apple customer support is to ignore the customer & hope they go away or buy a new version of the broken/faulty product.
I have NEVER had any response form apple for any of the issues I have had with my iPhone (problems with headphone jack socket to iOS4 fiasco)
even when you give them feedback, they state after you send it they will NOT reply to you!
if your unhappy with your iphone since iOS4 downgrade (just google downgrade iphone to 3.1.3) & downgrade.
&/or do the only thing every company can understand DO NOT BUY AN APPLE PRODUCT AGAIN.
I have bought 1 apple product & been generally happy with it (Itunes is awful to use & apple quality control seems to be poor) but I will not buy one again, there overpriced & there is better products at a less price on the market now.
seems a lot of people have lost confidence in apples quality control & customer service & apple are not interested in addressing this.
I bit the apple, but it was sour......not again.

Aug 19, 2010 1:57 AM in response to The Elzby andrevalente,Maybe we should send the same message to Apple through the feedback form for the iPhone. Something like:
Dear Apple,
I am one of the many users with performance issues in my iPhone 3G after updating to iOS4. Please provide your loyal users with some information concerning this matter.
Thanks,
"one in many"
Maybe if they'd receive 200 000 copies of the same feedback they'd realize the size of the problem.

Aug 19, 2010 3:04 AM in response to andrevalenteby The Elz,I think they already have had more than that many complains in the feedback, they just dont care.
they are aeware of the problem as I have said. they just choose to ignore us hoping we will buy a iphone 4.
seems iphones have a 18month shelf life according to apple, then they want you to buy a new one.
I bought mine expecting to use if for a good few years for the price. (even if it means newer apps dont work id still use what i have already) -
Aug 19, 2010 9:19 AM in response to MacOpHby highdef,I don't know what the big deal is.
Not a single person has asked me how I got my iPhone 3G to work with os4.02.
My phone works perfect with os4.02.
I have no idea what eveyone is complaining about.
If anyone wants to know how to make an iPhone 3G work perfectly with os4.02, reply to this post. -

Aug 19, 2010 9:27 AM in response to n3ntoby highdef,Hello,
My phone is a 16gb iPhone.
I stripped all my media, email and all content before performing
My restore. The problem people are having is they
Are updating and not restoring.
In order for os4.02 to work on an iPhone 3 g you must restore as a new phone.
I am using my iPhone 3G right now to make this post over my wifi connection, and have made all of my posts from my iPhone. If my iPhone could not handle this task don't you think I would be using my intel 2.33 MacBook pro 17 inch instead????? -
Aug 19, 2010 9:29 AM in response to Xplorer77by martin0,as i happens apple are willing to help when needed
i had a 3g with os4 on it and yes it was slow so i emailed apple and complained about it shortly after i recived 2 calls from my local store to try to help me sort it out and when they failed they replaced my handset for a new one running 3.1 -
Aug 19, 2010 9:32 AM in response to highdefby Christopher John Hunter,Restoring - people use the term many ways - how did you do it, please ? -

The thing is that DOES NOT work for every phone. It's really great that it worked for you but it's not a solution for everyone. I did that. I've restored 3 times, and it did make my phone better. People can try and it might work for some, but it can't be made out to be the ultimate answer. -

Aug 19, 2010 9:52 AM in response to highdefby n3nto,Seing is believing!
Just time some apps for us like google maps, accuweather, Bloomberg, google earth, Ny Times as an example. And then time access to settings, messages etc
Quite simple it will take a few minutes of your time and Most people here would be very grateful. -
Aug 19, 2010 9:57 AM in response to cliffby n3nto,I juts downgraded my partners phone to ver 3.1 and I am keeping mine with IOS4.0.2. The difference in speed is impressive. I will be doing a comparison (hopefully tomorrow).
The only reason that I have not downgraded my Iphone 3G is because I have a lot of work stuff on it and dont want to risk loosing everything. Much rather Apple helped us a bit on this. -
Aug 19, 2010 10:04 AM in response to n3ntoby Christopher John Hunter, don't want to risk loosing everything ...
yep, exactly why we, too, are sitting tight & waiting for Apple to do the right thing ! -

Aug 19, 2010 10:17 AM in response to highdefby ChickenMcTest,This is been posted over and over, you get the same result from doing a double hard reset. The performance boost is only temporary.
