Aug 4, 2010 8:48 PM in response to Xplorer77by itsmrbill,Add me to the list of dissatisfied iphone users, as the iOS4 "upgrade" has made my 16GB 3G ridiculously painful to use. If Apple didn't recommend the iOS4 upgrade then I would have kept going on iOS3, but they did and this is an insult to me, a lifelong Apple user, and everyone using the iphone 3G. If Apple doesn't want to lose customers to Android, which I'm seriously considering, they need to come out with a fix or simple downgrade process asap. For now I guess I'll have to trudge through the web to find the best path to downgrade to iOS3. If anyone out there has found a magic fix then please let us all know. -
Aug 4, 2010 9:55 PM in response to Xplorer77by madboymatt, add me too. this is such b/s. My iphone can barely make a call without having to reboot it. EVERYTIME! this thing is sooo slow that i've actually been using my blackberry lately. S my D apple. Get you shyte together. -
Aug 4, 2010 9:59 PM in response to itsmrbillby phxpaul,If Apple does not put out a fix for this before Best Buy calls me, I'll be switching to the Sprint EVO!!!!!!
This is like Microsoft the way Apple has ignored the 3G problems. just like antenna-gate for the iPhone4!!
I went to my local Apple store and had a Genius switch out my phone 3 weeks ago. I was lucky enough they replaced it with a phone that still iOS3 on it. But within a week, iTunes tricked me and it upgraded me to 4 when I synced it. It worked fine for about a week and now it's back to this nasty slow, freeze, black or white screens etc. Genius Bar staff say to restore the phone. Sorry, that's not an acceptable fix. Especially when you have to do it once every 2 weeks!!!!! -
Aug 4, 2010 10:27 PM in response to Xplorer77by Getinkedtattoos,I noticed that my connection has been SIGNIFICANTLY decreased since "Upgrading" (If that's what you want to call it) to ios4!! I had NO idea until JUST NOW (Reading This) that others were having the same issues. I actually called At&t earlier today and the rep told me to use a pencil eraser and "Clean" my sim card... which I did to NO AVAIL!! What Gives?? I had planned on upgrading my wife and my phones both to iPhone 4's but HOW can I be assured that the same BS won't happen???? -

Whoever you spoke to clearly has no grasp of technology. Where do they find these people? Why do they call it "Technical Support" when it's clearly neither?!
Not only is the condition of the SIM card irrelevant, you'd need an ink (the rough kind) eraser. A pencil eraser would just coat the contacts in pink rubber crud. -

Aug 5, 2010 2:34 AM in response to Xplorer77by mRsToli,When will you learn that "latest" is not necessarily the "greatest"? I'm standing by for the real "fix". -
Aug 5, 2010 3:08 AM in response to Westmaniaby Christopher John Hunter, darnit, that must be it, no wonder - they can't hear us, their tests don't complete, and they can't tell us !

Aug 5, 2010 4:03 AM in response to Christopher John Hunterby bluesurgeonfish,iOS 4 rendered my IPhone 3G absolutely useless. It's a disgrace that Apple allowed this change to be distributed without proper testing and quality controls. -
Aug 5, 2010 5:43 AM in response to Xplorer77by pippagain, just another voice saying 'me too.'
i've had exclusively apple products for 17 years or so, loved (note past tense) my iphone 3g. loved pulling it out, used it for everything and used it everywhere.
since 4.0 upgrade, it's frankly a bit embarrassing to use it in public, as i spend more time WAITING for whatever i'm trying to do to catch up with me than actually doing it. (opening safari, opening notes, emails...) almost missed a call yesterday 'cause i couldn't get the green slider bar to slide to answer it. really, apple, did you guys test 4.0 on a 3g? yes, i did complain to
http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
and recommend others do the same...but wanted to add another voice here as well. can't believe it's been almost two months and they've not managed/bothered to fix this. -
Aug 5, 2010 5:58 AM in response to Xplorer77by pharmaction,It is a rediculous scam on the part of Apple to upgrade OS 4.0 for Iphone 3G. Most of my friends are having major issues with the upgrade. It took forever to install and not only that some of my files didn't back up. Hence, lost work!! This an annoying problem which is still occuring. maps doesn't work anymore, apps not working properly, sluggish, etc. The people at Apple suggested I upgrade to the Iphone 4!! What a scam!! I loved my phone and was considering to upgrade in a few months but with this issue I'm not sure anymore. In six months with the new Iphone 5 will the Iphone 4 be considered a dinosaur? This is poor marketing and Apple will loose customers with this one! I could scream! -
